Bible study is not something that can be done in our heads. Every study method involves some form of writing. Whether it is answering questions, rewriting a verse, or making a list; writing helps us to slow down, reflect upon, and work through the passage we are reading. Unless we jot down our thoughts, questions, applications, and observations, we will quickly forget what we have read. But when we pause long enough to put our thoughts on paper, our scrambled first impressions will work themselves
